Tank Bulkhead Kit with 3/4 inch PP Valve to MDPE Pipe

This kit gives a water tank or water butt a fixed outlet into MDPE pipe. Stored water can then run through a pipe to wherever it is needed, and a valve right at the tank opens and closes the line. Choose the kit by the size of your pipe, 20 mm, 25 mm or 32 mm MDPE: the bulkhead and the valve are the same in every kit, and only the pipe fitting changes.

All three parts share one thread size, 3/4 inch BSP, so they screw straight together. The tank bulkhead has a 3/4 inch BSP male thread and comes with its nut and seal: it passes through a hole in the tank wall, the seal sits against the wall and the nut is tightened from the other side to hold it in place. The valve is a black polypropylene (PP) in-line valve with a 3/4 inch BSP female thread at each end, so one end screws onto the bulkhead outside the tank and the other takes the pipe fitting.

The pipe fitting is a straight compression fitting with a 3/4 inch BSP male thread on one end and a compression end for the MDPE pipe on the other. The pipe is pushed into the compression end and held by tightening the compression nut. With the valve closed, the pipe side can be disconnected or extended while the water stays in the tank.

Use it to run water from a water butt or rainwater tank to the far end of a garden, to an allotment, to a standpipe or to a second tank, or anywhere an MDPE line has to start from stored water. It suits gardeners, allotment holders and anyone plumbing their own outdoor water supply in MDPE pipe.

The kit contains exactly three parts: the bulkhead with its nut and seal, the valve and the compression fitting for the pipe size you choose. The MDPE pipe, the tank itself and any thread sealant are not included.
