MDPE to Copper Pipe Adaptor with Ball Valve and PTFE Tape

This fitting is made for the point where an MDPE water pipe meets copper pipework. It joins the two in a single inline piece and puts a lever-operated ball valve at the same spot, so there is no need for a separate adaptor and valve, and the water can be turned off at the joint whenever work needs doing further along the line.

One end is a compression connection for MDPE pipe: the pipe is pushed in and gripped as the nut is tightened. The other end is a brass compression fitting that seals onto copper pipe with a nut and olive, the usual way of joining copper without heat or solder. Between the two sits the polypropylene valve body with its lever handle, which opens or closes the ball valve with a quarter turn.

Every kit comes with a roll of PTFE thread seal tape for sealing threaded joints as you assemble or remake them. The kit contains the valve assembly and the tape only, so the pipe itself, any pipe inserts and the tools for the job are sourced separately.

It suits DIY plumbers and tradespeople joining an MDPE run to copper pipework, whether an MDPE supply is coming into a house or outbuilding or a new MDPE pipe is being taken out from existing copper, and anyone replacing an old joint between the two types of pipe. Choose the kit by the outside diameters of your pipes: 20 mm MDPE to 15 mm copper, 25 mm MDPE to 15 mm copper, 25 mm MDPE to 22 mm copper, or 32 mm MDPE to 28 mm copper.
