MDPE Pipe Shut-Off Valve with GEKA Type Coupling

This kit turns the end of an MDPE water pipe into a point where a hose can be connected and the water shut off. A compression end grips the pipe, a valve controls the flow, and a brass GEKA type claw coupling provides the connection for a hose or other equipment fitted with the same type of claw coupling. Choose the size that matches your pipe, 20, 25 or 32 mm, and one of two valve builds: a brass ball valve with a butterfly handle, or a plastic valve.

The metal valve version has three parts that screw together in one straight line. A straight compression fitting grips the pipe and ends in a 3/4 inch BSP male thread, which screws into one end of the brass ball valve. The valve has 3/4 inch BSP female threads at both ends, so its other end takes the brass GEKA type claw coupling by its 3/4 inch BSP male thread. The valve and the coupling are the same in all three sizes; only the compression fitting changes to suit the pipe.

The plastic valve version uses two parts. The compression end and the valve are one plastic body with a plastic handle, finished with a BSP male thread: 1/2 inch on the 20 mm size and 3/4 inch on the 25 and 32 mm sizes. A brass GEKA type claw coupling with a matching BSP female thread screws onto that outlet.

Use it on an MDPE supply run to a garden, allotment or yard, wherever a hose needs a fixed point to connect to and a valve to close it off. Claw couplings join with a push and a twist and come apart again without tools, so one hose can move between points fitted with the same system. Each version contains only the parts listed for it; the pipe, the hose and the hose’s own claw coupling are not included.
