Iron Sulphate Lawn Greening Tonic

Iron sulphate (ferrous sulphate) is a water-soluble lawn treatment used to quickly improve grass colour and support stronger-looking turf. It’s ideal when your lawn needs a reliable green-up, particularly during cooler, moist parts of the year.

Supplied as a raw mineral powder/granule, it dissolves readily in water for liquid application. As a natural characteristic of the material, it may compact into a firm lump during storage or transit; this can be broken up before mixing and does not indicate the product is wet.

For best results, dissolve thoroughly and apply evenly across the lawn using a watering can with a sprinkle bar or a knapsack sprayer. Mixing with a small amount of warm (tepid) water can help speed up dissolving in colder weather.

Once mixed, use the solution the same day to avoid loss of effectiveness as the iron can oxidise. Apply when there is good soil moisture and avoid periods of strong sun or heat to reduce the chance of temporary marking or stress to the grass.
