Floating No-Spill Pet Water Bowl with Silicone Rim

Some pets drink tidily. Most do not – they plunge in, lift a dripping muzzle and leave a trail across the kitchen. This floating water bowl is built for the second sort. A loose disc sits on top of the water and covers the surface, so the level is held below the rim instead of sloshing over it. Your pet presses the disc down as it drinks, water comes up around the paw-print opening in the middle, and the disc floats back into place the moment the nose lifts.

The bowl and its floating insert are moulded in ABS and polypropylene, with a low, square-cornered profile and a wide skirt that keeps the footprint stable. A grey silicone rim seats around the top opening for a snug, quiet fit and lifts straight out; the floating insert comes out with it, which is all the dismantling that cleaning needs. Underneath, four grey rubber grips are set into the corners of the base flange, and shaped cut-outs in the skirt give you somewhere to put your fingers when you carry a full bowl to the sink. The VEKK wordmark is moulded into the front wall.

It earns its place with the animals that make the worst mess: spaniels and other long-eared dogs whose ears dangle into the dish, flat-faced cats that submerge half a face to reach the water, and bearded terriers that carry a soaked chin into the living room. It travels too – the water stays where it should while a car is moving, so the same bowl serves in a boot, a crate, a caravan or on a campsite.

In the house it suits hard floors and tight corners: hallways, kitchens, utility rooms and anywhere a puddle turns into a slip hazard. Multi-pet households can run one per animal; single-pet owners usually buy it for the one room where mopping up spilt water has become a daily job.
