Type C Camlock Reducer, 2 Inch Female to 1 Inch Hose Tail

This reducing Type C camlock coupling connects a hose with a 1 inch bore to a 2 inch camlock connection. One end is a 2 inch female camlock socket with two cam arms; the other is a 1 inch hose tail. Because the reduction from 2 inch to 1 inch is built into the coupling itself, a smaller hose can run straight from a 2 inch male camlock without a separate reducer in between.

The coupling is made of polypropylene, with the hose tail formed as part of the body. The two cam arms are hinged on lugs either side of the socket. With both arms lifted, the male adapter slides into the socket; pressing the arms down closes them into the groove of the adapter and holds the joint together. Lifting them again releases it, so connecting and disconnecting is done by hand, without tools.

The tail is serrated along its length. The hose is pushed over it as far as it will go and secured with a hose clip of the right size, which is not supplied with the coupling. The 2 inch female end mates with 2 inch camlock male adapters such as Type A, Type E and Type F, which are sold separately.

It suits anyone who already works with 2 inch camlocks but wants to run a smaller 1 inch hose from them: taking water from a pump or tank outlet fitted with a 2 inch male camlock, feeding a hose for garden or field irrigation, or stepping down a 2 inch transfer line on a farm or site. Before use, check that the coupling suits the liquid, pressure and temperature in your system.
