Soaker Hose Kit 100 m with 24 Fittings and Inline Valve

This kit turns a single coil of porous soaker hose into a watering line shaped to your garden. It brings together 100 metres of thick-walled, nominal 1/2 inch hose, 24 barbed 13 mm fittings and an inline valve, so the hose can follow a border, run down the rows of a vegetable plot or split to reach several beds from one water supply.

A soaker hose waters from the inside out. Once the line is connected and its far ends are closed, water works its way through the black porous wall and beads along the outside of the hose, wetting the soil it lies on. The watering happens at ground level along the whole run, instead of from a spray that lands on leaves, paths and fences.

The fittings are black plastic, with ribbed barbed ends that push into the bore of the hose and grip it from the inside. Tees open a side branch, elbows take the line round a corner, straight joiners link two lengths or mend a cut, and stop ends close each run where it finishes. The inline valve sits between two cut ends of hose and opens or closes the flow to the section beyond it, so a bed that has had enough water can be shut off while the rest of the line keeps working.

The kit suits home gardeners, vegetable growers and allotment holders who want to water beds, borders, rows and greenhouse beds at soil level, and the length on the coil leaves room to plan more than one run. It contains the hose, the 24 fittings and the valve only: a tap connector or hose adaptor to feed water into the start of the line is not included, so check what your water supply needs before you lay the hose.
