IBC Adapter Kit, S100x8 to Brass Hose Tail

This adapter kit connects a hose to an IBC (intermediate bulk container) tank whose valve has an S100x8 threaded outlet. It screws onto the outlet, steps the connection down through BSP threads and ends in a brass barbed hose tail, so water stored in the tank can be run off through a hose to the garden, an irrigation line or a pond.

Every kit is made of separate parts that screw together in a line. First comes an adapter cap that screws onto the S100x8 outlet and offers a 2 inch BSP female socket on its other side. In the 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1.25 and 1.5 inch kits a reducing bush screws into that socket by its 2 inch BSP male thread and leaves a smaller BSP female socket: 3/4 inch in the 1/2 and 3/4 inch kits, and 1, 1.25 or 1.5 inch in the others. The brass hose tail then screws into the bush by its male BSP thread. The 2 inch kit has no bush, because its hose tail carries a 2 inch BSP male thread and goes straight into the cap.

The size of each kit is the size of hose it takes. The 1/2, 3/4, 1 and 1.25 inch kits finish in a brass tail for hose of that size, while the 1.5 and 2 inch kits finish in a 38 mm or a 50 mm barb. The barbs hold the hose once it has been pushed fully on, and a hose clip of the right size secures it; a clip is not part of the kit.

The kit suits gardeners and growers who keep water in an IBC and want to draw it off through a hose of their own. It contains the adapter cap, the brass hose tail and, in every size below 2 inch, the reducing bush, and nothing else: the IBC tank, its valve, the hose and a hose clip are not included.
