Flexible Anti-Kink Garden Hose Connector, 1/2 inch

This flexible hose connector is made for the point where a garden hose meets the tap. On an outside tap the hose usually has to turn down or to one side as soon as it leaves the outlet, and that tight turn at the connector is where a hose most often folds over and kinks. Here a short, ribbed bellows section is built into the connector between its two ends, so the turn is taken by the connector rather than by the hose.

At the tap end is a female click-on quick connector with a lime green sleeve. It pushes onto a standard click-on tap connector until it clicks, and comes off again when the sleeve is pulled back, just as an ordinary click-on hose connector does. At the other end the hose fits over an inner stem inside a ring of collet fingers, and a lime green screw nut with a ribbed grip closes the collet around the hose as it is tightened by hand.

Because it follows the universal click-on standard, it slots into an existing click-on set-up with no change at the tap: the threaded tap connector stays where it is, this connector goes on the end of a 1/2 inch hose, and the hose can still be unclipped and coiled away after watering. It suits gardeners with a wall-mounted outside tap and anyone whose hose keeps folding over where it leaves the tap.
