Product Details
These expanded clay pebbles (often called hydroton) are a versatile growing medium for hydroponic setups and potted plants. Their porous structure supports strong root development by improving airflow around the roots while helping manage moisture and drainage.
Made from fired natural clay, the pellets are lightweight yet durable, with a rough, porous surface that holds water on the outside while allowing excess to drain away. They are pH neutral and chemically inert, so they won’t upset the balance of your nutrient solution or compost.
Use them as a standalone medium in hydroponic and aquaponic systems, or mix through potting compost to open up the structure and reduce waterlogging. They also work well as a top dressing to help reduce surface evaporation and keep pots looking tidy.
For planters, add a layer at the base of the pot to encourage free drainage and help prevent stagnant water around roots. Available in multiple pebble sizes and volumes, so you can match the grade to seedlings, houseplants, or larger containers.
