MDPE Elbow with Lever Garden Tap and Quick Connector

This kit gives an MDPE water pipe a working outside tap. It is made for the point where the pipe ends in the garden, on an allotment or beside a water tank, and you want somewhere to fill a watering can or click on a hose. Choose the elbow to match your pipe, 20 mm, 25 mm or 32 mm; the tap that goes with it is the same for every size.

The elbow is a compression fitting. The pipe pushes into one end and the compression nut is tightened onto it, while the other end turns through 90 degrees to a 3/4 inch BSP female thread. The tap has a matching 3/4 inch BSP male inlet that screws into the elbow, so on an upright pipe the tap sits level with its spout pointing down.

The tap is opened and closed with a single lever on top of its metal body. Instead of a plain spout, the outlet carries a quick connector hose plug with an O-ring, which takes a hose fitted with a click-on connector, so the hose can be clipped on for watering and taken off again by hand when it is needed elsewhere.

Every pipe size is offered in two versions. With PTFE Tape adds one roll of PTFE thread seal tape for wrapping the tap thread before it goes into the elbow; Without PTFE Tape is the elbow and tap alone, for anyone who already has tape or another thread sealant in the toolbox. This is the plain elbow kit, without a wall bracket or flange plate, and the pipe, pipe clips and hose are not included.

It suits gardeners, allotment holders and anyone running their own outdoor water line in MDPE pipe, whether that line ends in a standpipe at the far end of the garden or in a hose point on a pipe run from a water tank.
